Ride and Hike Excursion

This all-day excursion is a memory you will not forget! The day starts with a guided tour down our privately owned trails to two spectacular waterfalls that run from the Shenandoah National Park into Naked Creek. There is a deep swimming hole at the bottom of one of the falls. This is a steep hike down but as you hike out of the national park, we provide transportation back up the mountain road so there is no steep uphill hiking. After returning from the hike, our guests are invited over to our main cabin where they will be served a delicious meal provided by our chef services. Following lunch, you will head over to the equine facility to experience the wilderness ride. This ride begins with a journey through our wooded trails. Riders will then slowly climb to the mountain meadow where they will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains! This excursion combines the best of both worlds and will make memories you will never forget!

Your trail guide and our beautiful horses are what makes your experience so special. If you loved your ride, please show some appreciation to your guide!

Your Guides Salary Depends Greatly Upon the Quality of Their Service and the Generosity of Your Gratitude.

Riders MUST wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

All reservations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. During good riding weather, especially during weekends, our schedule fills up very quickly so we highly recommend you booking your adventure as far in advance as possible (especially the longer rides and excursions). Mountaintop Ranch reserves the right to cancel due to inclement weather, although a little bit of rain never hurt anyone. We advise you check the weather day of and dress accordingly. Some rides might not always be available due to trail conditions, the number of guests we have with us on the ranch and the number of horses we have available, or other unforeseen reasons. Please check with the hostess of Mountaintop Ranch before making your final plans to ensure a smooth ride.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of inclement weather, we will issue a full refund if rescheduling is not an option. Aside from inclement weather, we do not offer any other cancellation policy for a refund. We are, however, happy to reschedule with you if possible.
